In September, photographer, James Macari (best known for shooting fabulous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photos, some including Anne) teamed with stylist Sara Gore Reeves for the fall edition of Bal Harbour. Well, Bal Harbour‘s website has an awesome blog featuring its cover girl!
Like so many model stories go, Russian-born Anne Sergeyevna Vyalitsyna—best known as Anne V—was spotted in Saint Petersburg at the tender age of 15. She had a quick rise to fashion stardom checking off a fragrance campaign, major runway shows and a “face of” campaign all in less than a year.
ough, she’s probably best—or at least most widely recognized—for her killer body which has been celebrated in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue consecutively for the last 10 years. Perhaps it was those spreads that caught the eye of her former romances Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, whom she dated for two years, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
What caught our eye when casting the 5’10 stunner for the cover of Bal Harbour’s Fall 2014 issue was her mega-watt smile. Anne V’s look is one of a bygone era of supermodel: full of life, sexy and genuinely happy!
And who wouldn’t be with a few fine feathers in your cap like Chanel’s Chance perfume campaign, the face of Chloé and runway debuts for Roland Mouret and Sophia Kokosalaki—all in your first year. In fact, on those first bookings, Anne V. had barely mastered the English language. Quite the star turn for a 15-year-old from Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod).
In the years since, she’s shown no signs of slowing down. She’s appeared on the covers of French Elle and British Vogue (March and July 2003, respectively) and walked runways for Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Miu Miu and Chloé. She also appeared in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show walked in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
When it comes to editorials, Ann V. has got the shutterbugs lining up, having been photographed by some of the world’s top image-makers, including Ellen von Unwerth and Norman Jean Roy, who shot her for the cover of Vanity Fair, no less. She’s also appeared in Vogue, Glamour and fashion forward publications like Italian Vogue, Numéro and i-D.
Anne V. doesn’t stop at the runway, though. She’s one of the model coaches on Oxygen’s The Face, alongside Naomi Campbell. If she can stand her own next to that glamazon, well, we think we’ll be seeing this blonde beauty for a long time to come!
Also on Bal Harbour‘s blog is a cool video of Anne’s photo shoot!
